The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Aisha Achimugu at the Abuja airport for suspected involvement in financial crimes. Achimugu a resident of Kano state was apprehended while trying to board a flight to Dubai. The EFCC stated that Achimugu is a member of a syndicate that specializes in creating fake accounts to defraud unsuspecting victims. The commission also revealed that Achimugu had multiple international passports and was in possession of large sums of money which is believed to be proceeds from the fraudulent activities. The EFCC has vowed to continue its fight against financial crimes and bring perpetrators to justice.

In a significant development towards peace and security in Katsina state 14 bandit groups have surrendered and signed a peace deal with the government.
