At the recent Kelso Races there was double celebration for a Borders trainer and jockey as they both had winners on the day. Trainer Sandy Thomson from Greenlaw had a successful day with two winners while jockey Craig Nichol also had a win. Thomsons horse Bennys Secret won the 2m 2f handicap hurdle race and later in the day his horse The Ferry Master took first place in the 2m 6f handicap chase. Nichol rode both horses to victory showcasing his skill and talent as a jockey. The day was a great success for both the trainer and jockey and a proud moment for the Borders region.
